Steve Altimari, Brewmaster/President

After a 12 year career in the Silicon Valley High Tech world, Steve decided on a career change. He attended the American Brewers Guild in Davis, California and graduated in the fall of 1995. He then took the helm as brewmaster at Valley Brewing Company until June 2010, including ownership during 1996 and 1997. Over the years Steve has accumulated many accolades and awards for his brewing. Most recently he was awarded the 1st Place Gold Medal at the 2009 Great American Beer Festival for his English-style Barley Wine. He also earned a 2nd place Silver Medal at the 2010 World Beer Cup for his English Dark Mild. At the local level, Steve has garnered over 75 medals at the California State Fair and at the county level. His brewing style represents the best of several worlds. He is comfortable brewing classic English style ales, traditional German Lagers, Belgian Abbey Ales as well as the unique Belgian-style Sour. Steve also has extensive knowledge and experience with barrel-aged and blended beers. He is looking forward to bringing his experience and love of beer back to the market and into your glass. Kevin J. Sweeney, Legal Counsel

Kevin is a Northern California native who graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1974 and the University of California, Hastings School of Law in 1978. Kevin has worked for firms in San Francisco and Chico, California and is currently practicing as a sole practitioner in Chico. In his 32 years of practice, Kevin has been actively involved in numerous corporate and other business formations in California and other jurisdictions. He has also served as an officer and/or director on many for- profit and non-profit ventures. Kevin has provided legal counsel for local craft brewers and is very impressed by the "team" which High Water Brewing has assembled and the fantastic beers that Steve makes.

The High Water Brewing team looks forward to making and distributing some seriously great artisanal beers.

John Anthony, CEO/Director of Sales

After 25 years in the broadcasting, marketing and promotions business the craft beer bug bit John. He learned the ropes of the business (i.e., production, packaging, and sales) at a small craft brewery in Northern California. Recognizing the need for increased sales and distribution of their own product and a more focused distribution of other craft brands, John started his own company, Craft Brewers Distributing. Soon John and his son, Lane, were selling and distributing some of the finest beers found anywhere, including Stone Brewing, North Coast Brewing, Ale Smith, Lagunitas, Drake’s, Devil’s Canyon and others.

John’s love of craft beer and the craft beer movement in general led to his introduction to award-winning brewer Steve Altimari. John and Steve worked together at Valley Brewing until June 2010. Now both have teamed up to bring you the best tasting, highest quality beer in the world!

Lane Anthony, Board Secretary/Sales

Lane brings strong sales and distribution experience to High Water Brewing. After being introduced to the craft beer world by his father, he went to work for a small Northern California brewery as part of the sales and distribution team. Lane’s experience with both on- and off-premise accounts grew. He then joined forces with his father at Craft Brewers Distributing as an Area Manager / Sales. Lane always dreamed of bringing his passion for, and knowledge of, craft beer to his own brewery business. So, when he heard that his father and Steve were brewing up something brand new he jumped at the chance to be a part of it and sought out two other key components — financial and legal expertise.
